Move the playhead to the start of the selection. Select an area with the Marquee tool, press control-home, playhead moves to the start. Excellent tool.

I need to remember to turn on the Marquee ruler so I can get my eyes adjusted to seeing it along with the other rulers (the Marquee selection could easily be off screen).

You can select and edit parts of one or more regions, using the Marquee tool or the marquee stripe:

Treat the selected notes as recorded or written. Do not extend notes to minimize rests, etc. Play it like a computer, not a human 😉

Change the syncopation or interpretation of notes — Logic Pro X

By default, note syncopation and interpretation match the settings chosen in the Region inspector. You can change interpretation settings for individual notes to improve readability.

If Interpretation is turned off, note lengths are displayed as closely as possible to their real values, as determined by the Quantize value. In the following example, the same MIDI region is shown twice, the first with Interpretation turned off, the second with it turned on:

You can cable objects in series and in parallel. Cabling objects in series is useful for quickly connecting groups of faders that are used to control a MIDI mixing console, for example.

Makes me wish for a sort of reverse key command — take a command that will never be used and make it perform some macro function on my behalf.

I don’t think I will ever “Select Project 7” even if I knew what that actually was.

I can only guess that “Select Project” and “Project Select” refer to an old-school MIDI data filer/player.
