Show/Hide Track Name — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

  Show/Hide Track Name

Toggles the track name on and off in mixer windows. I can’t think of a reason that I wouldn’t want to see a track name at the bottom of the mixer.

Nudge Region/Event Position Right by 5 SMPTE Frames — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

Nudge Region/Event Position Right by 5 SMPTE Frames

Sometimes the random selection of commands has an apparent affinity for a task.

Move the currently selected object (region/event) right by 5 SMPTE frames. Very useful when syncing audio to video. I don’t do this very often.

It’s interesting to see commands like “Set Nudge Value to 0.5 SMPTE Frames” and “Nudge Region Left by 1/2 SMPTE Frame” — can’t decide analog/digital?

⇧ SHIFT – ⌃ CONTROL – ⌥ OPTION – ⌘ COMMAND

Nudge Region/Event Length Left by Nudge Value ⌥⇧← — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

Nudge Region/Event Length Left by Nudge Value ⌥⇧←

The Nudge command that I use! I set the nudge value in the toolbar and use the key commands to move right or left as required. Typically I am using 1 ms as my nudge value. Nudging avoids problems with drag and snap.

Move regions in the Tracks area — Logic Pro X

You can also nudge regions (move them in small increments) left or right using key commands. To nudge regions, you first set the nudge value, then move selected regions by this value. Alternatively, you can nudge regions by a set value.

⇧ SHIFT – ⌃ CONTROL – ⌥ OPTION – ⌘ COMMAND

Delete Unselected MIDI Events Within Selection — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

Delete Unselected MIDI Events Within Selection

Unselected within selection sounds kind of odd. How can a selection be unselected? When described as events within locators it make a lot more sense. A region, or parts of regions indicated by locators constitutes “selection” for purposes of this command.

Simply put, delete all of the events I haven’t chosen, bounded by locators or region.

Mute and delete regions and events — Logic Pro X

The Mute and Delete functions go hand in hand, because you often want to remove events you have muted.

⇧ SHIFT – ⌃ CONTROL – ⌥ OPTION – ⌘ COMMAND
