  Copy Group Settings

In the “Groups Inspector” window/area. In the gear menu/icon.

Copies the settings for the current group. Helpful to set a number of things for a different group.

Using groups successfully requires an understanding of the “Group Clutch”. Normally when you change something on a channel in a group the entire group gets changed. If you want to make a change to only one channel you engage the clutch “⇧G” (documentation has it wrong”, The clutch is a toggle, so you have to press “⇧G” to dis-engage. Touch bar enabled as well. Groups inspector — Logic Pro X:

You use the Groups inspector to define the behavior of each Mixer group. The Groups inspector appears in the Track inspector when one or more groups have been created, and it can be opened as a floating window as well. It contains the following settings:

Deciding how long a reverb tail to use in your mixes encompasses a lot of variables. What is the tempo of the song? How busy are the parts? OH! MY! If I highlight one or more commands in the key commands window I can copy and past the list of selected commands. I have only ever done that with all of the commands…

Score Editor overview — Logic Pro X:

The Score Editor can display a single MIDI region or software instrument track. In the Score Editor, each track appears as a separate staff. Notes, rests, and other musical events in the MIDI regions on the track are displayed in standard musical notation.

Select MIDI channels in the mixer window “all” or “tracks” view.

Pressing this confuses me when the X-Touch changes state. My current template does have a MIDI track, but only so when I export song information I get a marker track along with other pertinent data.

I have to spend more time adjusting the views of the mixer, and following what happens with my tools.

You can also add effects to alter the sound, use routing and grouping to control the signal flow, and use automation to create dynamic changes in your project over time. You do this in the Mixer, which opens below the Tracks area or as a separate window.

Markers are so useful. I try to make it a habit to “drop markers” during listening passes. If I hear something I want to investigate put a marker there.

I still don’t like navigating by numbers, but so it is. I deleted all of the keyboard commands like the one listed.

I a practicing creating markers (⌥’) and typing anything I need to remind me. If I position the cursor in just the right place in the marker list I can do it…

When I am simply listening and balancing busses I use the X-Touch in marker mode and press the V-pot to create the markers.

Navigate using markers — Logic Pro X:

You can navigate through your project using markers. This is useful when you want to quickly jump to, and edit, regions or events at a specific position in your project, for example.
