I don’t work with movies at all. I do watch tutorial videos all the time. Maybe I should create Logic projects for some of my videos so I can work through the tutorial. Something to explore.

You can view a QuickTime movie file synchronously with your project, making film and TV scoring quick and easy. Although you can’t record or edit video directly in Logic Pro, you can replace the soundtrack of a video file with music, Foley, and dialogue arranged in your project.

Set Movie Region Start to Playhead
The “movie region” doesn’t have to encompass the entire length of the video. You can set the movie region start and end in the Project Preferences — Movie section, or by using the Movie Region commands.
I have replaced the audio in a movie once. Seemed OK. I don’t do any real work with video.

Solo Movie Audio On/Off
One of the difficult ones. There doesn’t seem to be any explanation of what this command does. I have done some experiments and think that I can describe the behavior.
I am not using a separate output for movie audio.
The “Mute Movie Audio” command toggles the Mute button found in the Project Movie settings. This is the place where the movie volume control is located as well.
The “Solo Movie Audio” command toggles the Mute button of the Master channel. When the movie is soloed Logic output is suspended — the muted Master channel.
My current problem is trying to figure out where the Movie audio channels are assigned.
