Show/Hide Note Pad ⌥⌘P — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

  Show/Hide Note Pad ⌥⌘P

The menu command is “Show Note Pads” using the plural.

The Note Pad is a very under-used tool. I am clearly guilty of it.

There are “pages” in the Note Pad for the project, and one for each track.

If you use Alternatives (I do a lot): the Note Pad contents are Alternative specific. Separate sets of notes for each alternative.

Text files cannot be “dropped” into the Note Pad, but images and PDF files can be.

It would be great if the Note Pad could be “detached” from the Arrange window and allowed to float in the project.

Track Stacks overview — Logic Pro X

Summing stacks let you combine multiple tracks and route their output to an audio subgroup. When you create a summing stack, the outputs from the subtracks are routed to a bus. The destination aux of the bus is assigned to the main track. When the main track is selected, you can mute, solo, and adjust volume and send levels for the summing stack, and add and edit plug-ins, affecting the sound of all the subtracks in the summing stack. This is similar to the way an audio group works.

  Save Selection As… ⌥⌘S

Located in the Audio File Editor.

Select a portion of an audio file (e.g. a kick drum hit) and save it as an audio file. Guess it can come in handy.

Audio File Editor overview — Logic Pro X

Important: Most edits and functions performed in the Audio File Editor are destructive. This means the actual data of audio files is changed. Although you can undo edits and processing commands, you should work with copies of your audio files, rather than the originals.
