Creates a new event of the type indicated at the top of the Event List.

The Event List accepts real-time and step recording of MIDI events, as described in Overview of recording in Logic Pro. Similar to the other MIDI editors, you can also create events directly in the Event List.

Edit Live Loops cells in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can arrange and edit cells in the Live Loops grid much as you do when working with regions. Basic functions to cut, copy, paste, move, or delete cells are similar to the equivalent functions for regions in the Tracks area.

Parameters for selected cells appear in the Cell inspector, which replaces the Region inspector when cells are selected. When you select a single cell, the title bar of the Cell inspector shows the cell name; when you select multiple cells, the title bar shows the number of selected cells.

Select tracks in Logic Pro — Apple Support

You can select multiple tracks. When multiple tracks are selected, the first selected track is the focused track. Some operations, such as choosing a patch in the Library, only affect the focused track when multiple tracks are selected.

When multiple tracks are selected, the track number of the focused track also appears selected (lighter gray color) on the left edge of the track header, unlike the other selected tracks.

NB Extending the selection of channels in the mixer works in a similar fashion using the left and right arrow keys. Select a channel, use shift-left and shift-right to extend the selection. Interestingly the extension is from the focused track, so using these commands extends selection from the focused track. De-selecting requires a shift-click.

Opens or closes the plug-in window of the seventh insert on the channel. We’re almost beyond easy recognition of which insert this will actually work with.

Work in the plug-in window in Logic Pro — Apple Support

The header area at the top of a plug-in window is common to all plug-ins. You can use it to adjust the size of the window, link plug-in windows when more than one is open, switch the plug-in parameter view, and route side chain source signals.

NB These are Global Commands. You can open the plugin windows for a track even if you can’t see the channel strip in any of the visible views. It’s kind of nice to be able to work with a plugin without the distraction of the standard mixer or channel views.

  Toggle Pre-Fader Metering

Toggles between pre-fader and post-fader metering. The mixer visual changes with the meter to the left or right of the fader, left is pre-fader.

NB Pre-fader metering is post-insert — after all the plugins!

Set Pre-Fader Metering — Apple Support

The level meters normally show you the signal level after the channel strip volume fader. This is the most effective way to use the level meters during mixing your project. However, you can also set the level meters to show you the signal level before the channel strip volume fader, called pre-fader metering. You may want to use pre-fader metering when you want to adjust a signal using the controls on your audio hardware before recording.

  Quantize 1/8 Triplet (1/12)

Sets the quantization value to an eighth-note triplet (one twelfth of a 4/4 bar).

Quantize regions in Logic Pro — Apple Support

The Quantize parameter in the Region inspector applies to whole regions. If you want different parts of a region to have different Quantize values, you can split the region, apply different quantize settings to different segments, and then join them using the Join command or the Glue tool.
