  Settings: Global Format ⌃⌥⇧F

Open the Global Settings panel for the Score Editor. The command will not work unless the Score Editor has keyboard focus.

Global Score settings — Logic Pro X

Global Score settings define global formatting options, such as page margins, note spacing, bars per line, and more.

Defeat Interpretation ⌃I — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

  Defeat Interpretation ⌃I

Treat the selected notes as recorded or written. Do not extend notes to minimize rests, etc. Play it like a computer, not a human 😉

Change the syncopation or interpretation of notes — Logic Pro X

By default, note syncopation and interpretation match the settings chosen in the Region inspector. You can change interpretation settings for individual notes to improve readability.

Interpretation — Logic Pro X

If Interpretation is turned off, note lengths are displayed as closely as possible to their real values, as determined by the Quantize value. In the following example, the same MIDI region is shown twice, the first with Interpretation turned off, the second with it turned on:

Print ⌘P — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

  Print ⌘P

A most fundamental command across all applications. Other than a score I am not sure what I would print, or where the print command might be active…Score Editor only.

Show/Hide Staff Style Window ⌃⌥⇧S — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

  Show/Hide Staff Style Window ⌃⌥⇧S

As written. Working with scores is “fussy” work. Things need to look just right. Quick switch to get the tools in front for a moment.

The state of the Staff Style window is saved in screenset data. There appears to be a “refresh bug” when switching screensets having the style window open. The outline of the window appears, but it is not filled in

Staff Style window — Logic Pro X

You view and edit staff style parameters in the Staff Style window. The upper part of the window shows a list of available staff styles, with a visual representation of the selected staff style. The lower part shows the staffs that are used for the selected staff style, with parameters for each staff. The voices used for each staff are listed to the right.

Show/Hide Score Editor N — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day. #LogicProX @StudioIntern1

  Show/Hide Score Editor N

Toggles the Score Editor window. I think I would be more likely to leave the Score Editor open in a screenset and just swap those. I don’t do a lot with scoring at this time.

The toggle opens and closes the score editor at the bottom of the arrange window. Having that open with a single track makes some sense. If the score editor is the only window open toggle will create a full screen score editor. Odd.

Logic is one of the programs on the Mac that doesn’t “play nice” with window management.

Notation overview — Logic Pro X

You can view MIDI regions in software instrument (and external MIDI instrument) tracks as music notation in the Score Editor. Notes and other musical events are displayed as standard notation, along with common symbols such as time and key signature, bar lines, and clef signs. You can add and edit notes, add sustain pedal markings and other symbols, and print the score.
