Show/Hide Library Y — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Show/Hide Library Y

Show or Hide the Library panel at the left side of the main window. I *really* need to remember to use this. It is far more convenient than using the Setting menu at the top of channel strips.

Logic Pro Library interface — Apple Support

You can view available patches for the currently selected track, and choose a new patch, in the Library. Categories appear on the left, and patches for the selected category are displayed on the right. You can search for patches, create, save, and delete patches, and choose routing options.

Logic Pro patches overview — Apple Support

A patch contains the instrument, effects, Smart Controls, and routing settings that control the sound of a track. When you choose a patch, those settings are applied to the currently selected track. You can try a different sound for the track by choosing a different patch, as long as the patch is compatible with the track type.

Track Stacks and the Logic Pro Library — Apple Support

The patches available in the Library vary depending on the Track Stack type, and which track in the Track Stack is selected:

Channel strip controls in Logic Pro — Apple Support

Each channel strip has a set of controls (also called components), which varies according to channel strip type. You can adjust the channel strip volume and pan position, mute and solo channel strips, add and adjust effects, and send the output to auxiliary or output channel strips.

Delete Channel Strip Setting — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Delete Channel Strip Setting

Delete the currently selected Channel Strip setting. I’m not sure that I would use this command to maintain my channel strip collection. Permanently deletes the .CST file.

Work with channel strip settings in Logic Pro — Apple Support

Channel strip settings (CST files) are specific to each channel strip type. Instrument channel strips feature a number of instrument settings, separated into instrument, GarageBand, and Jam Pack categories. Audio channel strips offer effect routings optimized for particular instrument, vocal, and other processing tasks. Similarly, output and auxiliary channel strips provide channel strip settings for particular mastering or sweetening processes. For more information on using effects plug-ins, see Overview of plug-ins in Logic Pro.

Mixer Redo for selected Channel Strips — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

shows the mixer and plug-in buttons selected in the undo history.
Mixer Redo for selected Channel Strips

Redo the most recent change for the selected Channel Strips. Very useful when you are making changes to a set of channel strips like adding sends, adding inserts, fader changes, etc.

The regular UNDO/REDO commands appear to accomplish the same thing. I haven’t tested the commands in lots of situations.

Show/Hide Assign 1 — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Show/Hide Assign 1

Toggle the visibility of MIDI Assignable Controller knob 5.

There I times when I wish I could return to my 1990s MIDI rack and program and mix with 21st century tools. Of course I can get almost all of the MIDI gear in software, so it’s simply about racks of gear. Should spend some time with Reason so it can look pretty 😉
