Delete Channel Strip Setting — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day

  Delete Channel Strip Setting

Delete the currently selected Channel Strip setting. I’m not sure that I would use this command to maintain my channel strip collection. Permanently deletes the .CST file.

Channel strip settings (CST files) are specific to each channel strip type. Instrument channel strips feature a number of instrument settings, separated into instrument, GarageBand, and Jam Pack categories. Audio channel strips offer effect routings optimized for particular instrument, vocal, and other processing tasks. Similarly, output and auxiliary channel strips provide channel strip settings for particular mastering or sweetening processes. For more information on using effects plug-ins, see Overview of plug-ins in Logic Pro.

Open/Close Audio Insert 12 Plug-in Window of focused Track — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

Open/Close Audio Insert 12 Plug-in Window of focused Track

That sure is a lot of plug-ins on a channel. This set of commands (inserts 1-15) are assigned to the position of the insert. If an insert slot is empty then the command flashes the screen and does nothing.

I can see the utility of having insert slots populated in a standard order like a mixer.

You edit plug-in parameters in the plug-in window, which opens automatically when you insert a plug-in.

Remove Empty Insert Slots — Logic Pro keyboard command of the day (KCotD)

  Remove Empty Insert Slots

Removes blank/empty insert slots from a channel. Sometimes we create gaps by removing an insert, or by skipping an insert slot before opening. This command squeezes all of the inserts together leaving no empty slots in between.

Open/Close MIDI Insert 1 Plug-in Window of focused Track — Logic Pro X keyboard command of the day

Open/Close MIDI Insert 1 Plug-in Window of focused Track

Opens the plug-in window for the first MIDI insert plug-in. I need to explore MIDI inserts and the X-Touch. I don’t think the controller deals with MIDI inserts at all. First look indicates that it does not.

The header area at the top of a plug-in window is common to all plug-ins. You can use it to adjust the size of the window, link plug-in windows when more than one is open, switch the plug-in parameter view, and route side chain source signals.
